Mountain hike | Špindlerova Bouda - Snow pits - Špindlerův Mlýn

This 17 km ridge hike winding along the Czech-Polish border will offer you breathtaking views, the beauty of the Krkonoše nature and the opportunity to stop at some of the mountain huts.
Start in Špindlerův Mlýn, transfer by bus to Špindlerova bouda (1,198 m above sea level)
From the stops in the city center, take a bus to Špindlerova bouda (mountain chalet).
Bus route: Labská Nico, Parking lot P1 - dam, Parking lot P2 - Hromovka, Sv. Petr, Zotavovna Grand, Dívčí lávky, Medvědí koleno (Bear's knee), Davidovy bouda (stop 1km below Davidový bouda), lower and upper Jelení bouda, Malý Šišák, Špindlerova bouda
Špindlerova bouda to Petrova bouda
Crossing the well-known path of Czech-Polish friendship.
The red-marked tourist route follows the Czech-Polish border and runs 28 km from Tvarožník (tourist point) to Pomezní bouda (mountain chalet). Unlike the Polish part of the Krkonoše Mountains, where entrance to the National Park is subject to a fee, the Czech-Polish friendship route is not subject to a fee.
Dívčí kameny (1,413 m above sea level) to Mužské kameny
Right behind Petrova bouda (Peter's shed), you can climb to the Dívčí a Mužské kameny (Maiden's and Man's stones). The views but worth it!
Granitic rocks, technically called tories, were formed during the Mesozoic and Tertiary periods. As a result of the frost, the granite massif cracked into smaller blocks, which, thanks to weathering and cooling, got their current rounded shape.
Sedlo na Martinovou boudou to Sněžné jámy (1,235 m above sea level)
From the Černé sedlo signpost, descend to Sněžné jámy and continue along the yellow marked path to the U Labské bouda signpost.
The Sněžné jámy (Snow pits) were created by the action of glaciers, after which two glacial lakes remained as a memory at the bottom of the boilers, along with botanical rarities scattered on their walls. The natural formation of the Sněžné jámy, which is an attraction not only for tourists but also for photographers, can be easily recognized thanks to the Wawel transmitter, which previously served as a tourist hut.

Sněžné jámy across the crossroads above the Labská bouda and into the center of Špindlerův Mlýn
The final part of the route will take you through Martinova and Medvědí Bouda (mountain chalet), Dívčí Lávky, past Myslivna back to the city center, where the route ends at the lower station of the Medvědín cable car.
Martinova bouda (Martin's shed)
An ideal place to stop, with captivating views of the region, it is one of the oldest in the Krkonoše Mountains. Both the shed itself and especially its surroundings have played in several famous films. You can find photos of some of them in the interior of the shed.
Medvědí bouda (Bear's chalet)
It was established at the beginning of the 19th century and from its beginning, in addition to housing, it also offered accommodation. Its form has not changed much from the original one, and that is the goal of the current sensitive reconstruction of the shed.
