The Hradec Králové Region is a higher territorial self-governing unit of the Czech Republic, occupying the northern part of the East Bohemian Region. It lies almost all in the northeast of Bohemia, some land in the current cadastre Pec pod Snezkou, but until 1959 belonged to Poland and therefore lies in the historic territory of Silesia. In the south it borders on the Pardubice Region, in the southwest on the Central Bohemian Region, on the west on the Liberec Region and on the north it borders on the Polish Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
