Get to know the Giant Mountains on adventure routes

If you are interested in why Špindlerův Mlýn is named as it is, or what led stonemasons to build stone beds on the river, the educational trails will offer you answers full of surprises and discoveries. Embark on unique routes and gain new insights into the history, geology, flora and fauna of this picturesque region.

The miller's circuit, divided into three color-coded routes, starts in the park at the statue of the Špindlerův miller and offers an easy walk through the city off the main roads. You can pick up a map with circuits at the tourist information center. You can also go on the Mining Trail, which will take you to the mining ruins in Sv. Petra, or try one of the attractive routes in the ski area, such as the Bear Trail or the Špindlman Mission full of adventures and tasks for children. And don't forget the Labský důl or the Devil's Stream, where you can learn about glacial formations and nature protection against floods. Each trail is an experience that will enrich your visit to the Giant Mountains.

Labský důl and Čertova struhá

Špindlerův Mlýn is surrounded by beautiful valleys that hide their history and reveal it to you on their educational trails. Labský důl and Čertova strouha , here is an example of how the local mountaineers managed to tame the wild ice water flowing from the peaks of the Krkonoše mountains with stone rafts forming magical waterfalls .

St. Peter Valley, mining settlement

Another valley that hides its secrets of ancient stories is the Svatý Petr valley protected by the steep rock ridges of Goat's backs . Here, the mining trail , a short educational walk, will introduce you to the difficult life of the first settlers, the miners, and the beginning of the birth of the mountain town Špindlerův Mlýn. The St. Peter Valley is a pleasant place to go for walks and enjoy nature to the fullest.
You can also take the mining trail as a warm-up for a longer hiking trip, and from the Svatý Petr valley continue along the green tourist sign Dlouhý dolem , where you will discover more remains of the tunnels (unfortunately, due to safety reasons, it is not possible to make the tunnels accessible to the public) and further in the direction of Pec pod Sněžkou .
