Based on the cooperation of the Krkonoše National Park Administration with the Mountain Rescue Service and the Czech Association of Mountain Guides, eight ski mountaineering routes are available in the Krkonoše Mountains, which lead mainly on marked hiking trails, but also outside. You can find them around Pec pod Snezkou, Spindleruv Mlyn and Rokytnice nad Jizerou.
These are trails that can be combined with other marked hiking trails and with other trails and non-forest areas in the 3rd and 2nd KRNAP zones. It should be noted that on most of the routes below, you may encounter very risky games, and in bad weather, otherwise a hike may turn into a struggle for life. These are by no means secure routes!
Much of the routes below are not marked with poles or hiking signs in the terrain and some sections are difficult to navigate under certain climatic conditions. Consider carefully your possibilities and abilities.
Please follow the route, do not drive out, do not damage the surrounding nature! Before each trip, check out the current avalanche risk at www.hscr.cz or call 602 448 338.
Complete descriptions of the routes, their maps, as well as important information about basic and rescue equipment, and other useful information can be found at www.krnap.cz/popis-tras/ .
