Ice climbing

It’s not just rocks that make ideal terrain for climbing – ice can be great, too. Nowadays most people enjoy this discipline outside the high mountains, especially on the frozen waterfalls in the mountain valleys during the winter. In Špindlerův Mlýn you can climb on ice on the rock at the end of the Keep Fit route in Labský důl. As this is the only locality and since it is right in the heart of the National Park, this sport is restricted. The number of climbers per day is limited to 16, as the waterfall is quite small, and also to allow the spot to be enjoyed by others. You can book an ice climb in the winter using the reservation system at, or can find out more by contacting the KRNAP Information Centre.
