Covering a total area of 26ha the Elbe Dam is one of the largest and, according to many, the most beautiful bodies of still water containing trout in the Czech Republic. Its position right in the heart of the protected Krkonoše National Park, with pure, cold water from the Elbe all year, makes the Elbe Dam a natural habitat for the native salmon, while the trout and grayling come to the tributaries of the dam as their spawning grounds. The combination of the gorgeous surrounding countryside, the natural habitat of the brown trout and grayling as well as the frequent occurrence of market-sized and trophy-sized rainbow trout and char make fishing on the Elbe Dam a highly exclusive experience. Try fishing from a bellyboat on a tributary, when the sun is coming up over the mountains and the still waters around you are disturbed only by the ripples of feeding fish; that’s a morning you’ll never forget.
Fishing permits are issued by Milan Pavlík, tel.: +420 603 900 792. Can be collected in person from the gamekeeper’s cottage at Labská 30 (crossroads above the Clarion hotel, towards Rovinka).
Price: 400 CZK /day – no fishing licence required
